Episode notes

Matthew Layton presents Studio 1 - Vision Australia Radio's weekly look at life from a low vision and blind point of view.

On this week's show...

With apologies to those of you still confined to barracks, Matthew, Vicki and guide dog Bella head out to the Adelaide Fringe

Normally it's the first event of the year on the global festival circuit, but this year, for obvious reasons, it's the first such event in the world since the outbreak of the global pandemic.

Is it possible to have a COVID-safe, socially distanced cultural across 300 venues, while at the same time making it more accessible than it has been in previous years?

We investigate.

Matthew talks to Adelaide Fringe's remarkable Head of Program Operations Jo O'Callahan, the he and Vicki....

Erm...

It didn't quite go to plan as you'll find out, but Matthew and Vicki have secured tickets for the audio described performance of Jo's recommendation "Happy Go Wrong"and will report back once they've been.

Please get in touch with the show - particularly if you have questions for next week's guest Kirk Pengilly of INXS, who will be telling us of the time he nearly lost his sight to glaucoma.
