My Dad Stole My Limelight

S3 E3: Maud Mostly with Ryan

Listen on

Episode notes

This week's episode is something I have been looking forward to ever since I met Maud. Maud Mostly is an artist, educator & writer, a member of the music-based collective @theotherteam (dedicated to uplifting, amplifying, and supporting underrepresented/historically excluded artists) and host of Queer Trivia Night which raises funds for various amazing causes, not to mention has built a community for us all throughout trying times and beyond. Maud aims to spread and build queer joy throughout their various projects, and it is felt by every one of us in their orbit.

Maud is wise, kind and generous and this interview is no exception. I could soak up their awesomeness on a daily basis and still not have enough of it and I felt very little (haha kidding) pressure interviewing someone I so admire as an interviewer themself. Maud speaks about their fluid journey in their gender and sexuality, how they now just want these things to exist and don’t feel the need to throw words on or define labels and have found other ways to connect to who they are.

Maud is joined by a friend and collaborator from The Other Team, Ryan, who has been in Maud’s life for many years they have been side by side throughout a lot of Maud’s journey. They have grown together to foster the queer joy and queer community they are both so involved in creating. Like everything these two work on together, this interview comes from the biggest place of love, and I am so honoured to have shared this space with them both.

Check out everything they are doing over at The Other Team and support the amazing work by listening, watching, subscribing or even reaching out to get involved behind the scenes!
