The Storytellers Porch
By Jill Davis
Welcome to The Storytellers Porch, a cozy podcast featuring real stories with collective impact.
As you begin to listen to each episode, we ask you to imagine yourself on your favorite porch somewhere, sitting with your favorite beverage in a comfortable rocking chair, and relaxing with your favorite people. Perhaps the sun is setting, the fireflies are beginning to flicker, you hear an owl hoot, and you watch the fire glow. Our host Jill Davis brings out a tray of delicious snacks and treats and sets them on a wooden barrel that sits in the middle of the assortment of chairs. Each seat is ready for our storyteller, our friends, and you. Take a sip, have a bite, and get ready for another wonderful evening on the Porch.
Here on the Porch, we hear real stories of courage, tragedy, rejection, triumph, joy, grief, and all the other wonderful aspects of existence that make us the unique humans that we are. Stories are the way that humans have made sense of our existence from the beginning of time. Our stories have changed and yet remain the same. We learn from our stories, create with them, and connect through them. By sharing these stories, we create community and by creating community we can heal and have hope.
