The Howitzer and Buzz-saw Show

The Season of Champions

Listen on

Episode notes

The unofficial start to summer means the NBA and NHL are narrowing down the postseason field and inching closer to crowning champions. It also means two champions Mike “the Buzz-saw” Asti and George “the Howitzer” Gerbo are here to discuss the remaining teams and matchups, and of course all the drama involved.  How did the Warriors get back to yet another Finals? What do the Mavs need to help get Luka over the hump in the coming years? Do the Heat have enough overall to be a championship team? Are the Celtics really this good or did they just take advantage of a playoffs riddled with key injures? Mike and George answer those question and then debate if Kevin Durant’s legacy is negatively impacted by the Warriors success without him?

The second half of the show becomes hockey talk with the discussion mostly focusing on the NHL finally getting a deep playoff run out of McDavid since it didn’t get one out of Crosby or Ovechkin this year and putting the possibility of a third straight Stanley Cup for Tampa Bay into the proper historical perspective.

The championship caliber Howitzer and Buzz-saw Show, conquering sports talk, one day, at a time….

Note: This show opens with a serious talk about the recent fatal school shooting tragedy in Texas.
