In 2009, 15 year old Loren was a victim of one of the youngest serial killers in Canada's history, Cody Legebekoff. At 24, Cody was convicted of killing 4 women, including Loren, when he was only 19 years old. Loren is the only known victim of Cody's who was LGBTQ.
