079 Learning to Focus on What You DO Want and Not on What You DON’T

As humans we are actually programmed to focus much more on the bad than on the good. We shrug off compliments, but obsess when someone says something not so nice about us. We’re much more likely to focus on the stuff we don’t like about our bodies than on the things we do. And we hear way more bad news than good news.

But as the saying goes - where attention goes energy flows. And so the more we focus on what is not going well, on what we don’t want and on the things that we don’t like about ourselves, the more of the same we usually end up getting.


So, today we’re going to be talking about how you can start to use what you DO want to motivate you to make changes.

We’ll discover:


• Why humans have an inbuilt negativity bias, but why it’s not serving us so well now.

• Why its hard to create positive change from a negative emotional state.

• How we can get conscious of our thoughts and start to focus more on moving towards rather than away from.
