Remembering Your Why with Yvonne Telford

Listen on

Episode notes

Yvonne Telford is the founder of clothing brand Kemi Telford, which she started in 2017 with £60 and some tote bags. Yvonne tells Steph about her founder story and how the business evolved into what it is now – a highly regarded fashion brand with partnerships with John Lewis and Tate, celebrity fans and featured in Vogue.

Yvonne talks with Steph about the boom Kemi Telford experienced during the Pandemic, and the importance of remembering her ‘Why?’ as retail slows down. They discuss how it’s easy to lose focus with the distraction of other people’s ideas and other businesses. Yvonne explains her decision around focusing on selling direct, stripping back to her core values and how she stays close to her customers.
