Ep 34 Self-care is a part of the Process
Episode notes
Hello...thanks for listening and for reading this!
First off...for those in the U.S., thanks for voting and for making your voices heard!
...Whenever I don't take self-care, it always bites me in the butt!
I always feel that I can "outsmart the system" or "outsmart life" or my body, to people please and skip my self-care and I don't know about you, but it never works for me.
I haven't been taking self-care recently and I've been neglecting myself and my body gave out and 'forced' me to. I got a migraine that wouldn't go away, and my lower back pain came back, and I did 'short stints' in resting which (if I'm being honest, WTF?), short stints of self-care are exactly that! I was giving myself the 'short end of the stick' and my body "fought" back and forced me to take sufficient rest (!)
And only with that 'sufficient rest' am I only now feeling better and 'back to normal'...thankfully.
As Iyanla Vanzant says...our "cups" are for us and the 'overflow' is for everyone else. Let that sink in for a moment. ;-)
And I have to keep reminding myself of this...self-care isn't a 'want' it's an absolute 'must'. Especially if you're an introvert and even more so if you're a highly sensitive and an empath. None of us can pour from an empty cup!
If this episode or the above words are of value to you, please subscribe/follow my podcast (on your platform of choice), and if would be so kind as to leave me a rating on Spotify or on Apple podcasts. Yes, you can now rate on Spotify...woohoo!
I podcast for the love of helping others and for sharing information with others and yes, it's also a part of my self-care and it helps for me to fill MY cup. :)
Thanks again for listening and reading this! Cheers to speaking up and for making your voice heard!
