Killer Trip

Belfast: The Jean McConville Story

Listen on

Episode notes

On February 1st, 2002, a huge storm wreaks havoc on Shelling Hill Beach in Northern Ireland.  Huge parts of the beach’s embankments and even part of a car park and roadway are simply washed away. But the storm is more than a weather event. It’s a forensic detective. Because by the time it has cleared, it has washed away more than sand and earth. It’s unearthed the bones of a woman and a coverup 30 years in the making.

The bones belong to Jean McConville, and this is her story.
