Episode notes

It’s a given that connections are important, particularly when it comes to business. But, the way we have been networking certainly needs a rethink. So, maybe it’s time to ditch the discrete business card exchange at dinner parties and build up our universes through the networks we already have.
Welcome to The Psychology of Entrepreneurship, a candid and revealing series that follows Ronsley Vaz and his guests, as they strive to unravel the inner workings of the entrepreneurial mind and explain why even the most successful among us experience Imposter Syndrome.
If you are someone who is holding back, feeling unworthy of your success or questioning your competency as a professional, this audio documentary is for you.
Who is David Burkus?
David Burkus is a quick-talking, high energy one of a kind entrepreneur. He’s the sought after keynote speaker with a couple of TED talks under his belt, both of which have been viewed over 2 million times.
He’s presented in front of leaders of Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft, Google, and Stryker as well as the future leaders of the United States Naval Academy, while somehow finding the time to grace the airwaves as the host of the award-winning podcast Radio Free Leader.
When David’s not speaking you can find him writing articles for the Harvard Business Review and Inc. magazine. His literary skills have been put to use, as he has become a bestselling author with his three books, ‘Friend of a Friend,’ ‘Under New Management’ and ‘The Myths of Creativity.’
His work has been featured in Fast Company, the Financial Times, Bloomberg BusinessWeek and “CBS This Morning.”
In this addendum of the Psychology of Entrepreneurship, Ronsley and David enter into the modern era of selfies and social media. They look at how networking’s reputation has been thoroughly sullied, but there’s a way to bring it back. They also look at why we need to go back to traditional ways when it comes to connections.
