Declan Mc Cavana MBE, was born in Belfast and educated at Trinity College Dublin. He is a senior lecturer of Rhetoric at the Ecole Polytechniqe. He is a founding member of the Paris Bloomsday Group, which reads from James Joyce's works in public several times a year. He is also President and co-founder of the French Debating Association, which organizes France's most influential debating tournament for Higher Education students. He is also a "Chevalier" of the Francophone Order of "La Pléiade" for services rendered to the French language throughout the world.
