Organising and Decluttering for our ADHD Brains

Spring cleaning energy is upon us, and I have been tackling some cleaning and clearing this weekend. If a messy, disorganised environment makes you feel anxious, or perhaps decluttering and having minimal clutter helps you feel internally calmer, or maybe you're desperate to clear out but unsure where to begin - this episode is for you!
During this episode, Kate and Vicky speak about:
OCD and ADHDVicky's burnout story and understanding how her ADHD has presentedReframing simplicity and productivity with an ADHD slantThe impact of decluttering on our mental healthSeparating sentimentality and clutterCreative, simple, sustainable systems to stay organisedEasy ways to start decluttering and organising for an ADHD brainGetting the motivation to de-clutterWhy an ADHD brain benefits from clean and tidy environments

The Powerful Connection Between Migraines and ADHD

The Powerful Connection Between Migraines and ADHD

Migraines and ADHD are something I hear about a lot in my ADHD female community. I also relate to this from a personal perspective with one of my ADHD daughters suffering from migraines, as well as quite a few friends. Migraines can be a lifelong debilitating condition alongside the many other symptoms that come with them.
Today's ADHD Women's Wellbeing Podcast episode explores the very powerful connection between migraines and neurodivergence in women with my guest, Diane Ducarme, the contemporary master of migraine investigation. Her unique approach combines the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine with cutting-edge technology to unearth the intricate root causes of migraines weaving on top of genetics. Diane’s relentless inquisitive mind for highly complex problems is what allows her to deliver life-transforming results, which is the fuel to her energy.
What sets Diane apart is her emphasis on the power of functional foods. Unlike conventional approaches focusing on eliminating foods, Diane adds new elements to the equation. Her dedication to unravelling the mysteries of migraines has inspired a podcast, "Migraine Heroes," and her company, Nectar Health, is at the forefront of this remarkable journey towards migraine relief and wellness.
On this episode, Kate and Diane speak about:
A digestive superfood that could help your migrainesThe vagus nerve and the connection to migrainesWhy migraines could be related to your ADHD How your digestive system can hold the keys to health The connection between your brain function and your food The profound wisdom of Chinese traditional medicineHow Hormonal shifts affect your gut and brainHaving period cycles that can actually feel goodThe effects of endometriosis on the digestive system What chinese traditional medicine can teach you about ADHD

Talking to your family after an ADHD diagnosis

Talking to your family after an ADHD diagnosis

Undiagnosed ADHD, at best, can be a life-long nuisance and energy-sapper, but at worst, it can trigger the worst of mental health issues, including suicide ideation.
Unfortunately, this week's guest, Priyanka Patel, a pharmacist and who was diagnosed with ADHD at 27, knows this all too well.
She was diagnosed with depression in 2020 and, despite her efforts to try and get an ADHD assessment, was not listened to by her GP. Priyanka was then put on a variety of medications, which led to a significant decline in her mental health.
Since finally getting her ADHD diagnosis, Priyanka's life has transformed, and now she is on a mission to ensure no other woman has to go through what she did.
During this week's episode, Kate and Priyanka talk about:
Priyanka's mental health and diagnosis storyHow Priyanka's family dealt with her diagnosisFocussing on all our negatives instead of our strengthsThe stigma of mental health, ADHD and medication in Indian cultureHow to approach medication for your situationCultural views of neurodiversityHow ADHD Medication works in your systemTips to help feel better while taking medicationSubtle ways our ADHD symptoms creep upAccommodations we can choose to help ourselvesPriyanka's work to improve NHS GPs' knowledge of ADHD symptoms in womenIncreasing awareness and screening of ADHD in GPs

    Empowering Ourselves Beyond our ADHD

    Empowering Ourselves Beyond our ADHD

ADHD can bring many opposing challenges and connotations and can feel like heavy energy to deal with. Yet, through gentle curiosity, we can find new options to reprogram our thinking and switch our emotional energy to create a happier, calmer and more fulfilling family life.
Despite the challenges, we can focus on the things we're proud of, which lift us up. We can create more internal strength and greatness as parents—life can be easier than we believe.
This week’s ADHD Women's Wellbeing Podcast guest is Avigail Gimpel, a mum of six, a special education teacher, and a college lecturer. Avigail also supports adults with ADHD in identifying the root causes of their symptoms and shares the tools you need to journey joyfully toward your goals. Her new book, Hyper Healing, Show Me the Science: Making Sense of Your Child's ADHD Diagnosis, is now out.

The Link between Hypermobility, EDS & Neurodivergence

Such a fantastic episode!! I learned so much from this. I struggle with ADHD/BiPolar2/Hypermobility. I shared this episode with 5 medical/health professionals in my life. My doctor, an occupational therapist along with 3 therapists. One of which works with neurodivergent kids and another who’s partner and child are neurodivergent. And the third being a couple’s therapist who also works with family’s consisting of neurodivergence within the community. I have 2 other doctors in my family; I’ll be sharing this with them over the holidazes.

Gen0cide apologist

Unfortunately this woman is a white supremacist Zi0nist and a gen0cide apologist. She genuinely believes that the value of an Israeli life is far greater than that of a P@lestinian. She calls those standing up to end the genocide of P@lestinians anti-semites. She promotes tropes used to justify the violence. There are many other Podcasts about adhd that are run by woman with in-tact consciences. Look elsewhere for your adhd support.
