In this episode, Camilla Uppal interviews Zeenat Islam, a barrister specialising in public inquiries and criminal defence, with a particular interest in cases that engage public international law and human rights.

Alongside her work as a barrister, Zeenat is known for taking an active role in helping to improve access to the legal profession and recently won the Highly Commended Award in the UK Chambers Bar Awards 2019 for Outstanding Contribution to Diversity and Inclusion – Future Leader.

Zeenat discusses a new project that she has launched, REDEFINED: Learning for Lawyers, and we also discuss the main issues in relation to diversity and inclusion at the bar, and in the legal profession as a whole.
