And oh buddy, do we have a special episode for you this week (recorded 6 January 2021). Ya boys at The Pub took some time to review the last calendar year in football and thought it'd be a lot of fun to award choice moments and people after a group vote/consensus. And lo, The Pubbies were born! This new inaugural event takes the entire calendar year of association football around the world's major leagues and sifts through the best (and the worst) before awarding them with the gong for their respective category! Hosts Ama, El Capitan Neal, Rosler, Jonathan, and Joseph take turns deliberating the nominees for Underperforming Player, Most Unappreciated Player, Best Manager, Biggest Racismo, Most Improved Player, Most Improved Team, Best Goal, Most Overrated Club, the prestigious Puballon d'Or (best overall player, regardless of league, gender et al), Best Kit, and Most Impactful Transfer before ultimately deciding a winner for each given grouping.
The lads wrap up by cruising through the Host Awards, a cheeky few nods to the moments only The Banter Pub's wonderous masters of ceremonies could bring you before firing through the 2021 Dishonourable Mentions list. Chock full of the kind of cheesy fanfare you'd get from literally any award show that you can think of, this is The Pub Awards!
