Listen on

Episode notes

Justin Trudeau is on a mission — and Raptors president Masai Ujiri might be his secret weapon. Trudeau and Ujiri are travelling throughout Africa in part to shore up votes from a number of countries to support Canada’s ongoing bid for a seat on the United Nations Security Council. The vote will take place this June, and Canada needs the support of African countries, but a lot of observers are saying it’s already way too late. Global’s chief political correspondent David Akin has been travelling with Trudeau and joins the show to talk about why Canada wants to be on the security council and how Masai might be able to help.
