Episode notes

"I've learned the importance of being connected with people, trying to keep people's spirits high"

Adrian Ellis, General Manager of the iconic Lowry Hotel and Chair of the Manchester Hotelier’s Association, spent years working in some of the world’s most prestigious hotels in Singapore, Bali and Azerbaijan, only to return to Manchester to head up the city’s only 5-star hotel.

Born in Norfolk but now a proud adopted Manc, Adrian’s passion for Manchester’s brilliant city region and hospitality sector knows no bounds. His desire to inspire local talent to see the hotel industry as a viable sector which can provide brilliant opportunities, is unparalleled. This passion, when coupled with his wealth of experience, marks Adrian as a gamechanger in the hospitality industry in Manchester.

Join Lisa Morton as she uncovers Adrian’s thrilling stories, featuring everything from ministering to Arab Royalty to Pop Princesses, and explores the individuality, vibrancy, and dynamism that fuels Manchester’s hotel sector.

Your host, Lisa Morton, started PR company Roland Dransfield in 1996, one month after the fateful IRA bomb that tore apart the city centre. From that point, the business, and its team members, have been involved in helping to support the creation of Modern Manchester – across regeneration, business, charity, leisure and hospitality, sport and culture.

To celebrate the 24 years that Roland Dransfield has spent creating these bonds, Lisa is gathering together some of her Greater Mancunian ‘family’ and will be exploring how they have created their own purposeful relationships with the best place in the world.
