Where Are You Going?

The podcast full of surprising stories from perfect strangers…

“Utterly unique and compelling” the Financial Times | “Engrossing” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Times

“Riveting” The Spectator | “Classic instance of the simplest idea being the best” Radio Times

A unique storytelling podcast in which Catherine Carr interrupts people as they go about their everyday lives and asks simply: “Where are you going?”

The conversations that follow are always unpredictable: sometimes funny, sometimes heart-breaking, silly, romantic or occasionally downright ‘stop-you-in-your-tracks’ surprising.

Be transported to places around the world and into the lives of others: You just never know what story is coming next…

  • “A simple idea brilliantly executed”

    Financial Times 2023

  • “A joyful exploration into just going for it and creating connections with strangers”

    Apple Podcast Listener 2023

  • “Carr knows how to charm. How to politely tickle people into opening up. The results are touching and funny.”

    James Marriott, The Times 2023

  • “The 15-minute episodes pack in more intrigue and unexpected heart-tugs than pretty much any of the grander, intensely production-centric mystery pods I've heard this year.”

    Tom Nicholson, Esquire 2023

  • “Brilliant concept, well executed and it has encouraged me to strike up genuine conversation with strangers I encounter in the wild”

    WAYG listener 2023

  • “It’s a reflection of Carr’s warm but direct approach that the people she accosts nearly always respond with openness. These capsule portraits are at once ordinary yet utterly compelling and unique. They remind us that everyone has a story to tell, if only we think to ask them.”

Fiona Sturges, the Financial Times 2023

  • “It’s soooo good, Catherine Carr is the interviewer I dream of being”

    Emma Beddington (Guardian columnist)

  • “I listen to this like a blanket being wrapped around me. So interesting and Catherine sounds so sincere”

    WAYG subscriber 2023

  • “This was an hour of pure radio, with so many vivid snapshots, such compelling stories”

    The Spectator

  • “This podcast is a delightful micro oral history of peoples’ everyday moments…. I always feel calmer after I listen. Please keep it up because you’re producing a beautiful record of life”
