Episode notes

Brad and Graham are back and joined by Sean Kelly for the latest episode of the Bradley Wiggins Show to ruminate on a busy week of cycling.

The exploits of Tao Geoghegan Hart are given a warm appraisal, there is criticism for the UCI following a rider protest ahead of Stage 11, and Sean and Brad reflect on opportunities missed.

Jonathan Vaughters speaks to Orla Chennaoui, suggesting that Primoz Roglic could fade towards the end of the third week of the Spanish Grand Tour, and adding that his EF rider Hugh Carthy, who won Stage 12 to put himself in GC contention, is an underrated time-trialist.

Brad and Sean add that Carthy has shown he can challenge the elite, and that the rider from Lancashire, should believe that he can go on to win a maiden Grand Tour. Elsewhere, as the Vuelta has progressed, Brad adds, Chris Froome has shown encouraging signs of a return to form and could challenge for a fifth Tour de France next year.

To finish, Brad and Sean reflect on the challenges of the fearsome Alto de l'Angliru, which Brad rode in 2011 with a broken collarbone.

The Bradley Wiggins Show is produced by Pete Burton.
