Listen on

Episode notes

Joel and Kim are back to catch up on the 4th round action from Flushing Meadows, New York, as the Quarter Final line ups start to take shape.

With Britain’s Jack Draper through in seamless fashion, Americans Frances Tiafoe and Taylor Fritz giving home fans something to shout about, and Sacha Zverev still on course for a maiden slam win, the Final 8 is shaping up nicely.

Meanwhile, in the ladies draw, Qinwen Zheng battles through a late night finish to defeat Donna Vekic in a rematch of the Olympic Final last month, in form American Jessica Pegula clinches her berth in yet another Slam Quarter, and defending Champion Coco Gauff falls to countrywoman Emma Navarro in a 3 set display of poor execution.

They also give a mid-tournament Collect A Set update, reflect on the dodgy video review call in the Kalinskaya-Haddad Maia match, and admire Karolina Muchova’s brilliant run through the draw with her latest victory over the very consistent Jasmine Paolini.
