Episode notes

Simon Thomas explores human endurance through the toughest times. In a series of interviews with well-known celebrities and notable people, he discovers how crisis and desperation can lead to hope and inspiration for a new and happy life. Here we will discover that people from all walks of life have endured the most difficult times. That there is hope. That our most desperate moments can reveal strength and resilience we didn’t know we had. That things can, and will, get better. In this interview, Simon talks to journalist and presenter, Bill Turnbull who currently works as a presenter for the radio station Classic FM, following many years as a presenter with the BBC. In March 2018, Bill publicly revealed his diagnosis of advanced prostate cancer. His decision to talk openly about his illness has led to many other men having their health checked and has undoubtably saved lives. It's a bitter-sweet joy for Bill, who still has to find strength and courage to meet this challenge head on each day.
