What seemed like a strong weekend for McLaren ended with more controversy than anticipated. It's clear that Red Bull's dominance has waned, and McLaren has emerged as the team to beat. However, McLaren has missed crucial wins due to strategic errors in recent races. This weekend, they aimed to change that narrative.

Despite securing a P1-P2 finish in qualifying and emphasizing fair and open racing, McLaren found themselves in a tricky situation. They allowed their lead driver to be undercut by his own teammate, resulting in Oscar Piastri being unable to challenge Lando Norris for position until the end. These questionable decisions could cost them dearly as the season progresses.

Red Bull also faced strategic missteps, leading to an unforced error from Max Verstappen that cost him a podium finish. Checo Perez had another disappointing qualifying but managed to recover in the race, finishing P7. Meanwhile, the other Red Bull driver, Yuki Tsunoda, secured points for the team.

With one race left before the summer break, every team seems poised to use the hiatus to reset and intensify their challenge against Red Bull and Max Verstappen in the championship battles.
