Vinland Saga, Ep 6: 'The journey begins'

In the latest episode of the Anime to Z podcast, hosts Che Lingo (rapper, musician, anime lover) and Bec Hill (comedian, writer, anime-curious) continue on their epic odyssey discussing the highs, lows and hijinks of historical anime Vinland Saga.  Che declares Vinland Saga a masterpiece and considers whether the series is a bit of a hidden gem, while Bec ponders how many times Thorfinn has said “damn”. And together they coin a new Vinland Saga themed cocktail… Plus they are joined in the studio by film and TV critic Kambole Campbell, who offers some insightful commentary on why Thorfinn is such a unique protagonist and how he would define anime.  Thorfinn goes to battle for the first time as a member of Askeladd’s army. After witnessing the harsh reality of the war to conquer England first-hand, Thorfinn tries to run away, but later throws himself into battle in order to get revenge for his father by defeating Askeladd. One night, Thorfinn gets wounded in battle, and is saved by a mother and daughter living in a village by the sea.
