Advocate for climate and social justice with Samia Dumbuya

Listen on

Episode notes

Samia Dumbuya is a facilitator, community organiser, and climate justice activist who has been campaigning and organising for social, climate and racial justice since she was a teenager.

Samia has been a key collaborator on the Natural History Museum’s Explorer Programme - an initiative that encourages communities of colour to pursue opportunities in geoscience, ecology and environmental science. On Thursday 26th January, that collaboration will result in an evening of education and learning at the Natural History Museum called Mind, Body, Space.

In this conversation, we spoke about intersectionality, data and how we display it, a political education community called Seize The Vote, created by Samia and their friends. We covered burnout in activism, joy as a form of resistance, and the role social media plays in social change.
