How Breathwork Transmuted a Memory that was Holding Me Back

Recently, I had a transformative experience with breathwork facilitated by Anna Parker-Naples. This session was unlike any other breathing exercises I've tried. The result was that I felt as if I rewired my brain, shifting some deeper layers of some beliefs that were holding me back in some new ways. 

During the session, vivid images emerged from different periods of my life, ranging from a time my mom took care of me as a child when I was sick to exhilarating moments of freedom, like when I jumped out of an airplane. 

Towards the end, a memory surfaced of a compliment I’d received years ago that truth be told, was haunting me — “Charis, everything you touch turns to gold!” — While this is a well-intended compliment, it brought with it an enormous amount of pressure. It seemed to surface out of the blue, and here’s the best part: I watched it transmute into a powerful new message: I AM the gold. *mic drop moment*. 

This breathwork session was another reminder to me that everything we need resides within us, and we just need to let it flow and trust ourselves.
