Big changes announced for Eurovision 2024 + Marcus & Martinus win Melfest 2024!

On this episode of Éirevision, Conor and Lou return from Stockholm to share their thoughts on Melodifestivalen 2024. Plus, the EBU have announced some major changes coming to this year's contest.

On Saturday night, Sweden's Melodifestivalen came to an end as 12 artists battled it out for the chance to represent Sweden on home soil this May at Eurovision. Ultimately, last year's runners up Norwegian twins Marcus & Martinus took home the famous bird trophy with their song, "Unforgettable". Hear our thoughts on our weekend away, the show itself and the twins chances at Eurovision. Plus, we chatted to Dotter, Medina, Cazzi Opeia, and Lisa Ajax straight after the final!

On Monday, SVT announced some major changes coming to Eurovision 2024! First off, the Big 5 & Sweden will be performing LIVE in the Semi-Finals for the first time. They still automatically qualify however, the full three minute performance will be slotted in amongst the other competing countries in the semi-final.

SVT also announced that the voting lines during the grand-final will open before the first song is performed. This will be the first time since 2011 when voting lines will be open from the beginning of the show. For the rest of the world voters, they will be able to vote nearly 24 hours before the show itself as voting will open straight after the 2nd dress rehearsal of each show.
