Episode notes

The final chapter of Chronicled is here. Matt Ketchell and Paul Joannou's epic 30-episode journey through the 140-year history of Newcastle United concludes in January 2022 with the club, theoretically, the richest in the world, yet staring relegation in the face. It could only happen at NUFC.

Last week's episode covered the dramatic politics of the Rafa Benitez era at Newcastle which had led us to the final chapter in the current story of the club. We pick up with Newcastle's owner scrambling to find a successor for the departed Benitez. Steve Bruce was the man the hierarchy turned to.

Joining Matt and Paul to discuss Bruce's two years at the club, and the takeover saga that overlapped this era, is someone who was at the heart of the action during this complicated, Covid-hit, period - ChronicleLive's Chief Newcastle United Writer, Lee Ryder.
