062 ‘Bee’ing Free! featuring Paula Carnell

Listen on

Episode notes

We are super excited to welcome our guest Paula Carnell on the podcast today! Paula has a very deep connection to bees and is sharing how bees and humans relate.

Humans and bees share similarities, including what makes them each healthy. Through exploring both humans’ and bees’ needs (not knees!), we can find sustainable ways to help both species truly thrive.

Another way bees compare to humans is the structure of their beehive. With a strong democracy and an equal sharing of the workload, beehives are a great example of how to run an effective business.

Connecting with nature is an important part of keeping one’s self heath and happy, as well as helping one connect with others. It’s un-bee-lievable the impact that bees have on us and the earth around us!

Get to Know Paula:

Paula Carnell is a bee and honey expert who has challenged the conventional beekeeping world with her natural and sustainable approach to beekeeping and honey production. As the lead beekeeper at The Newt in Somerset responsible for establishing their native honey and other bee species along with bee Safaris, honey tastings and the 'Beezantium' she has gained a reputation for shaking up the system and inspiring other businesses to consider the wider aspects of 'saving the bees'. Her TEDx talk shared her understanding of how bees taught her that we are all connected, and by killing the bees we are ultimately killing ourselves. Author of two books, and two more on the way, numerous podcast interviews and speaking globally, Paula is becoming the go to name in understanding how we can really save the bees, and which bees need saving!
