Listen on

Episode notes

Rick Ives; writer/director/producer of Solid Rock Trust, assistant editor at Marvel Studios and movie buff, is this week’s guest, to talk about making his feature-length heist movie, the editing process, movies in general and more!

In more detail, Rick begins by confirming his credentials in filmmaking, before the duo delve into the making of Rick’s heist movie that is shot in one location while discussing other single-location movies, this bleeds into wider discussions on movies and “indie” movie-making, the role of an editor & importance of good editing especially in an independent movie, the process of writing a heist script and Mike & Rick’s mutual love of one-shots. Rick & Mike also talk about creating characters, film experimentation, age certificates for movies, Lord Of The Rings, Jurassic Park, one-hit wonders, and so much more - this is one for the movie buffs!
