Episode notes

This week Mike joined by Frank Burton; creator/host of the Ragbag Podcast and author of three books: History of Sarcasm, One Hundred and his latest book, Everything I Am.

In part 1 of their chat, Mike & Frank start by discussing his previous two books and his podcast, before delving into what it was like writing a novel that links in with the lore of the Ragbag show and differentiating between the real and the “Fictional Frank Burton”. Frank also talks about recording conversations between characters when he does all the voices (for the audiobook), inspiration for the characters and part 1 ends with a discussion on how growing up in the 80s was different to today.

Part 2 will be out next week and their discussion on generational differences continues, character’s speaking author’s opinions, some challenges that come from voicing different characters (in the audiobook), audience demographics and more – their chat is finished off by a discussion on the value (or lack of) of social media!
