#103 Pt 1 – Vampires, Aliens & POPs (Oh My!): Legends, Cryptids & The Joy Of Collectibles With Janine Mercer

This week brings the return of Janine Mercer; host of the ODDentity podcast, creator of Corvus Review, founder of PodMoth Media and friend of the show!

In part 1 of their chat, Mike & Janine’s conversation starts with a small amount of COVID/lockdown talk, before discussing Janine’s hearing issues and the weirdness of 2020 before they talk about Funko pops and the fun of collecting. The chat then changes gear into a discussion on cryptids, vampires, legends, werewolves and aliens, before talking about where Janine’s intrigue into the weird & wonderful came from!

Next week part 2 will be released, which features “hung jesus”, the combination of religiousity and legends/monsters, as well as how the perception of religion in horror has changed, Janine’s eclectic collection of artefacts and human being’s love of storytelling. The conversation then changes to a more political discussion regarding protesting, being on the wrong side of history, “white guilt”, the perception of opinions and more, so make sure to tune in next week!

In the last episode of GCC; number 102, Mike spoke with Vietnam war veteran, doctor and author; Michael Deeze! Mike also appeared on Tony Farina’s Indie Comics Spotlight to talk about the comic series Second Coming (Episode 13).
