When John Lennon was shot, it was more than a murder. For a lot of people, it was more than a man who died. It was an idea. A vision of a better world, one of peace and kindness and harmony. The fact that he was struck down in such a violent way, said everything about the kind of world we were actually living in. And it wasn’t the world he was trying to inspire us towards. 

John Lennon came to New York City to find community with the kind of eclectic, artistic misfits he felt most at home with. And to find a bit of anonymity after a youth spent in the public eye. But in the end, it was that anonymity - that easy access - that cost him his life. This is a story about fame, fake news, and fate - which all combined on one awful night in NYC to change the history of music forever.
