Episode notes

In this episode, Anne is joined by Bob Kalber and Kevin Jarrold from Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust who discuss their journey in aligning their two worlds to drive improvement in care delivery enabled by technology.

Kevin is the joint Chief Information Officer and Bob is a paediatric consultant and Director of Strategy, Research and Innovation at the Trust. They reflect on how their partnership, and the culture of their organisation has evolved to ensure collaboration across the organisation.

Whether it is about ensuring the patient voice is centre stage, or the importance of creating deep and trusting personal relationships, they openly share their thoughts and reflections. Highlighting the importance of collaboration between the clinical, operational and digital teams, they focus on communicating the intent and vision in an open and down-to-earth way to staff and patients. A great listen for anyone looking to maximise the huge opportunity that alignment of these two worlds can bring from strategic conversations right through to listening to patients and staff about what matters to them.

The NHSX National Innovation Collaborative aims to create a connected network across the NHS, social care and local authorities to rapidly share learning and best practice and to accelerate the deployment of innovative technologies that enable care to be delivered to people at home.
