A group of researchers are working in the furthest reaches, where one of them is found dead a few miles away from base camp in temperatures below hundred degrees zero. 

A police officer in England has been tasked with finding out who the killer is, how the crime was committed, and why.  However, they have to do their investigation remotely from England, as they cannot get to the location thousands of miles away due to weather conditions.
