The late Mr Lino Vella AM was inducted into the Multicultural honour roll at the Premier’s Harmony Dinner on Thursday 14 March – where his son Paul Vella accepted the medal on behalf of the family. Under Lino’s leadership, The Maltese Herald fought for the rights of Maltese migrants on issues such as dual citizenship and promoted many community organisations and activities, including the Maltese Community Council and the Maltese Welfare Group, of which he was a founding member. - Fl-14 ta’ Marzu li għadda s-Sur Lino Vella, li ħalliena f'Jannar 2022 u li jibqa' magħruf fost il-komunità Maltija fl-Awstralja għax-xogħol tiegħu bħala l-editur tal-Maltese Herald, tpoġġa fuq il-lista ta’ dawk il-personalitajiet prominenti li taw kontribut fil-multikulturaliżmu Awstraljan. Dan sar waqt ikla mill-Premier ta’ New South Wales għal Jum l-Armonija. Iben Lino, Paul, irċieva midalja li ngħatat b’gieħ lil missieru, f'isem il-familja.
