89: Tied to the 00s: The Skinner Brothers - Wild live shows, Instagram vs reality in the music business, and touring with 00s icons

Listen on

Episode notes

We continue our brand new spin-off series Tied to the 00s!

There are more exclusive interviews with 00s indie stars to come - but we want to hear from CURRENT bands about the CURRENT scene!

Next up, Zac Skinner from The Skinner Brothers tells us about the band's wild recent tour and how he was blown away by the reception they got up and down the country. He also chats about previous support slots for 00s icons, including The Libertines, Kasabian and The Streets.

It's not all glamourous though, and Zac is very open and honest about the challenges and pressures of being in a modern day indie band - from songwriting block to the tight finances involved in an era where Spotify streaming dominates.

We also chat about the crossover between music and football fandom, with Zac weaving some football references into his tunes.
