The Dad Mindset Show
So You Want to Know What's Good for Your Kids?
Episode notes
Hi there,
I hope you’re well.
In this episode I chat with Australia’s most trusted doctor to discuss his new book, ‘So you want to know what’s good for your kids’ which is a no-nonsense, evidence-based handbook that enables you to focus on what actually makes a difference for your kids, especially in the crucial years of 5 to 10 - the runway to adolescence.
Social and emotional wellbeing turn out to be some of the best predictors of how well your child will do in later life. However they can easily get overlooked in the essential primary years, and that’s why Dr Norman has dived into the research so we, as parents, can make much more informed decisions.
If you’d like to follow Dr Norman you can find him on Instagram here and X here.

Now last year Sarah and I took the family on a 6-month road trip around Australia and we couldn’t have done it without having fast and reliable internet to enable me to work while we were in some incredibly remote areas.
Starlink was an absolute game-changer. If you haven’t heard of it yet, it’s a portable satellite dish and router that provides wicked-fast internet directly via a series of satellites.
I think there were only two places where our dish couldn’t get a line of sight to a satellite due to tree cover but considering we were out of phone range for about 50% of the trip, that was incredible.
Our friends at Starlink have a special offer at the moment so that if you sign up you’ll receive a month’s free service. It is a bit expensive but if you’re considering taking your family on the road and the only thing holding you back is that you need remote internet that you can count on so you can keep working, Starlink has got you covered. Here is a link to access Starlink’s offer.
