James Sutliff, Dystonia Fighter: The Story Of The Man Who Lost His Speech Overnight

This week we have one hell of an episode for you. In 2008, this man was flying high- he had a well paid career, he was playing semi professional rugby and he’d just met the woman of his dreams. And then, on May Bank Holiday in 2008, his life changed forever. He woke up after a night out with his mates and he could barely speak. Overnight, he developed a rare neurological disorder called Dystonia which affects your speech and your arms. Dystonia doesn’t have a cure and he has been raising awareness for his disability ever since. 

He is the most remarkable human being though and he’s forged a new career as a disability coach with the Matt Hampson Foundation as well as being named in the Top 100 most influential disabled people of 2020. 

This episode is a tough listen so you will need to concentrate but we think it’s so important to highlight his condition as much as possible.
