Life Solved
THE CORONAVIRUS TOOLKIT
Episode notes
In this special launch episode of Life Solved, the new podcast series from the University of Portsmouth, we hear from researchers across the disciplines. We'll be discussing the issues that have arisen as a result of Coronavirus pandemic; from a rise in domestic violence to struggles with anxiety and parenting under new conditions as well as the rapid medical advances to understand and fight the spread of disease. Our researchers will be taking time out to share their findings and discuss potential solutions for the new world we find ourselves in.
John Worsey talks to:
Dr Tamsin Bradley, Professor of International Development Studies about the rise in violence against women during the crisis.
Dr. Erika Hughes, Academic Lead in Performance at the School of Art, Design and Performance and Dr. Alice Good, Senior Lecturer in Human Computer Interaction about connecting with each other during Covid.
Dr. Sam Robson, Senior Research Fellow and lead Bioinformatician at the Centre for Enzyme Innovation about tracking virus genomes to predict the future spread of the virus.
Dr John Leach, Visiting Senior Research Fellow in the School of Sport, Health & Exercise Science and Dr Emma Maynard, Senior Lecturer in the School of Education and Sociology about managing ourselves and others during change and disruption.
