Originally from a rural town in southwest Missouri, Dean graduated from Baylor in 2016 with dual-majors in accounting and finance. While at Baylor, Dean was fortunate enough to work as an investment analyst for one of the university’s endowment funds – where he quickly developed a passion for public markets and alternative investment strategies. He then relocated to San Antonio to begin his post-graduate career at USAA, rotating between a number of corporate roles before ultimately moving to Austin and joining Silicon Hills in September 2020.

As Portfolio Management Analyst, Dean is responsible for execution of the firm’s investment program – including securities trading, portfolio design and construction, and subsequent oversight of portfolio performance. Additionally, he is responsible for research and due diligence of public and private investment strategies, as well as ongoing analysis of economic trends for presentation to the firm’s investment committee.

Additionally, Dean was a Founding Partner of Silicon Hills Technologies and hold the following certifications: Series 65 designation, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and Certified Enterprise Analytics Professional (CEAP)
