Ep 47 What My Mom Thinks About Mother's Day

Listen on

Episode notes

Hello...thanks for listening!

In the U.S. Mother's Day usually happens on the second weekend of May and this year in 2023 it will be on Sunday, May 14.

On this episode I share a lot of things about what my mom has always told me she felt about Mother's Day. I also talk about how I admire how in other countries, how they have a Women's Day vs a Mother's Day that celebrates ALL women! Isn't that great? So whether you're a mother or not, all women/womxn are celebrated!

I hope you enjoy this episode and this 'take' on what my mom thinks about mother's day. And to all of the mom's, godmothers, step-mothers, aunties, guardians and 'mother-like' figures, I hope that you celebrate 'you' in exactly the fashion that you want.

It can be sleeping in or sitting at home or in a cafe and just looking out the window or you may wanna be by yourself and have a 'me day'. It is YOUR day so I hope that you do (or not do) whatever it is that you would like to! ;-)

I would like to add this quote by Elizabeth Gilbert that I really loved since I heard it years ago...

"I feel like there are women who are genuinely born to be mothers, and women who are born to be aunties, and women who really probably not should be allowed near children."

Why does this matter?

It makes a difference in how we recharge, in how much we need to recharge and for our general well-being. And if you're an HSP in addition (test below) -- you'll need to recharge even more. ;-)

4. Are you an HSP (a Highly Sensitive Person)?

This is Dr. Elaine Aron's direct website. She coined the term, "highly sensitive person" back in the 90's!
