Ep 106 Self-care Is Not Self-ish

Listen on

Episode notes

Hi lovely! Thanks for listening! I have to remind myself of this every so often…that self-care isn’t self-ish. It’s tough as hell sometimes isn’t it? We don’t wanna be seen as ‘mean’ or ‘rude’ or ‘selfish’ for goodness sakes. We don’t wanna be seen as excluding others either but when you think about it we’re actually excluding ourselves. The Tonya Dalton quote “when you say yes to someone else, you say ‘no’ to yourself”. This is so true. So a good giveaway to see if you’re feeling disingenuous is if you’re in fact you’re saying no to yourself and if the answer is yes then you gotta reevaluate what you’re doing because ‘self-care is not self-ish’. And another great quote by Iyanla Vanzant is “what’s in our cups is for us, what’s overflowing (in the saucer) is for everyone else”. I talk more about this on my newsletters or my ‘love letters’ (as I like to call them). ;) Wanna get my newsletters? Here’s the link to join the list! —> www.westelizabeth.com/newsletter.
