Episode notes

In this episode, Laura is joined by Samara Boss, a certified holistic health coach, AADP, who takes a scientific evidence-based approach to alcohol recovery. After battling alcohol use disorder for over 25 years, Samara found complete and total freedom from addiction through a little-known treatment called the Sinclair Method that uses neuroscience to reverse the habit at the root level, which is in the brain. Samara’s story caught national attention when she was featured in the book Living Abundantly (2021) by author James Malenchak, known for his role on ABC's hit show, "Secret Millionaire.” Samara is a Sinclair Method Success Story and is a Certified TSM coach on two online platforms: The C3 Foundation and The Alcohol Freedom Program, brought to you by THRIVE. Samara is a freedom fighter on a mission to help others be set FREE from the chains of alcohol, leading them to transform their lives in the process! Samara lives in Florida and practices a wellness-oriented lifestyle! She enjoys taking her dog on adventure walks at the beach and evenings at the park.  Join the conversation and learn more about the lesser-known but highly effective treatment for AUD! Timestamps

Notable Quotes
  • I believe our intuition is God's voice telling and guiding us on what to do. I've been tuning into my intuition more lately, and its practice makes perfect. Yes. The more you practice, the better you get at it. So yeah.
  • I binged for about seven years. Then I noticed that I was developing dependence and what happens, and this is how you kind of know that you have AUD. If you feel like you've been hijacked by the substance, like if you kind of wake up in the morning and you're thinking about drinking, when are you gonna have a drink? And what are you going to drink today? And how are you going to make the drink.
  • It takes a few months. It's not a quick fix or instant kind of thing, but if you give it the time that it needs, you stay committed to taking that medication. So that's the critical part. Complete 100% compliance to taking that medication before you're going to drink. Okay, right now or before you're going to drink. And if you do that over time, you will heal the brain.
  • Almost everyone knows either a family member, a loved one, a close friend, or a friend who is struggling with alcohol. Almost everybody that I talk to has somebody in their life. So this isn't every family problem. And it's getting worse. So, the number of people with alcohol use disorder after COVID is 28 million that were reported in a year. So, 28 million were reported in a year. I think it was 2021 when they did the last report. And the number before COVID was 14 million people with AUD adults with AUD in the country. And now it's 28 million. So I'll let you figure out what the difference in the number.
