Listen on

Episode notes

In this episode, Laura talks with Gabi, an Authenticity Coach and speaker. She is Certified in NLP, Trauma Hypnosis, and Reiki Attuned. She hosts the Resilient Heart Podcast and is the CEO of her Agency, which has two parts. One part focuses on transformational healing work and healing retreats for women in beautiful locations. Gabi also owns Resilient Voice Media, a Podcast Production Agency. She believes sharing the messy pieces of our lives and how we overcame them creates connection, community, and healing. Her focus is to help the underdog, the one without a million followers on social media, have a powerful message, allowing them to take their small reach and make a BIG impact. She loves podcasting and helping men and women amplify their stories and messages.

Today, Gabi shares her journey of healing from past trauma, breaking generational curses, and the power of vulnerability in relationships. She shares her experiences with domestic violence, becoming a single mom, and how she transformed her life. She further discusses the importance of healing, self-discovery, and sharing our stories to help others.

Quotes:
  • Too many of us think our stories don't matter. Our voice doesn't matter. Think that what we say or the connections we can build doesn't matter.
  • I remember praying all the time; I just wanted peace. I just want peace. I just want this to stop. I just want this to not be my life.
  • It's really sad because my story is not unique. There are a lot of women who have children in these types of environments, and it's because they're in environments where they're trying to escape, and there's a temporary safety in that place.
  • It's such a beautiful thing to say, 'I'm so sorry.' Sometimes, we don't think what we did was a big deal, and then we hear it from them and what it did for them or how that made them feel.
  • When we can sit down together and have, like, I'm sorry that I hurt your conversation, then it gives them the urgency to be able to have those conversations in their relationships and with children when they have them someday.
  • We don't do anybody any justice when we lie to them and don't share the truth about who somebody was.
